Bridget Foley's work is hand thrown on a potter's wheel using porcelain clay. She mixes all her own glazes and fires them in a gas kiln to 1300 C. She uses glazes such as celedons, chun, tenmoku and copper reds in a variety of ways, as well as constantly experimenting with glaze combinations that give her work a unique look.
Her work is mostly tableware, particularly different sizes of bowls, which are made to be used and enjoyed everyday. Because the ceramics is high fired, it is very strong and durable and is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.
Bridget's ceramics make perfect gifts for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays and Christmas. Visitors are welcome to make an appointment to view and buy her work at her studio gallery. She also has annual open days in Alphington, dates for which are listed under the About/Upcoming shows section. She is also available to make special commissions and to conduct masterclasses from her home studio.
